Alexandra Mannix

In 2025, The Irving Law Firm proudly welcomed Alexandra Mannix to our offices. She will focus primarily on criminal defense law, including representation of retained clients and court-appointed indigent defense clients.

Immediately prior to joining the Irving Law Firm, Alexandra served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Julia A. Minner at the Circuit Court for Frederick County in Frederick, Maryland. During law school, Alexandra obtained her Third Year Practice Certificate and interned in both the Loudoun County Circuit Court Chambers and the Arlington County Circuit Court Chambers. These distinctive opportunities of working and interacting directly with judges and law clerks in three separate courthouses provide her a strong foundation to understand judicial expectations for courtroom success. In these roles, Alexandra was responsible for drafting legal memorandum on unique issues or cases presented, reading Presentence Investigation Reports and providing write-ups of defendants’ charges and backgrounds in advance of sentencing hearings, and reviewing and confirming statutory compliance of case files prior to entry of Final Divorce Decrees.

Alexandra’s interest in the judicial system and her passion for ensuring equity for all citizens can also be seen in her published work. In 2023, Alexandra was published as a chapter co-author in the Edward Elgar Research Handbook on Law and Political Systems. The publication included data analysis of trial judges’ gender, race, and partisanship to determine impact on verdicts, appeals, and reversals.  For this work, she and her co-author compiled an original data set for every trial judge in the state of Alabama, creating information for which there had not previously been available statistics for analysis.

Alexandra is originally from Flemington, New Jersey. She graduated summa cum laude from The College of New Jersey in Ewing, New Jersey with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Alexandra then attended George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School. At George Mason, Alexandra was a member of the Journal of Law, Economics and Policy.
