Madison Howell

In 2025, The Irving Law Firm proudly welcomed Madison Howell to our offices. She will focus primarily in criminal defense and civil litigation, working with each team to represent retained clients and court-appointed indigent defense clients, as well as solving civil disputes in Circuit Court and General District Court.
Originally from Knoxville,Tennessee, Madison graduated in 2021 from Sewanee: The University of the South with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, and her three respective minors: Biology, Chemistry, and Classical Languages. During her time there, Madison was a member of multiple honor societies, volunteered at a local free health clinic and worked with The Ronald McDonald House.
Madison then graduated from Washington & Lee School of Law in 2024, where was an editor of the German Law Journal, served as the President of the Health Law Association, and a board member of the Women’s Law Students Organization. She also worked at the school’s Low-Income Tax-Payer Clinic, where she helped provide free legal services for low income individuals in disputing claims with the IRS.
During law school, Madison gained experience in a broad range of legal matters, with a particular focus on civil litigation through a legal externship with the Office of the Solicitor at the U.S. Department of Labor in 2023. After graduating law school and prior to joining The Irving Law Firm, she worked primarily in civil litigation.
Outside of her work, Madison enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and exploring new travel destinations with her husband.
